My IBS Journey So Far

You've found yourself here either because 1) you know me and clicked on my post about this page 2) you are curious about what IBS is and what it can look like, or most likely 3) you struggle day-to-day with knowing what you can eat and wondering how close you're going to need to be to a toilet when you leave the house.

If you're anything like me, you fall into number three above. Eating food is no longer a fun experience, and the repercussions are downright embarrassing. I struggle when I'm out with friends at a restaurant with the choice of either being "difficult" in ordering with a lot of customizations or exclusions, or ordering something as intended but needing to use the bathroom consistently for the rest of the night.

It's becoming embarrassing. And I'm deciding to turn that on it's head. I think if this is something I'm embarrassed about, there are probably many others who have similar symptoms and don't want to discuss it. The problem with that is when no one wants to discuss, it becomes difficult to find answers.

My goal with this blog site is to not only update readers on my journey, but provide insight to things I find helpful along the way. I want to create a community where we aren't afraid or embarrassed to ask questions, and that hopefully will get us all one step closer to Finding Healthy.

So, in my next post I'd like to explain where I'm coming from and what I've discovered so far. In future posts I'd like to share recipes I've found that work for me, and tips on maybe some things that haven't. I want to incorporate feedback and hopefully not only can my journaling help you readers, but you can help me as well.

Here's to all of our journeys of Finding Healthy and Living with IBS!
